Symetri Redesigns Semiconductor Research Corporation Web Site

May 1, 2001, High Point, North Carolina — Symetri, one of the fastest growing interactive companies in the southeast, is responsible for the extensive ground-up redesign of Semiconductor Research Corporation’s (SRC) very large extranet Web site. The immense scope of the project, which was begun in the second quarter of 2000, is well suited to the Symetri inter-disciplinary team structure. Meeting the re-launch deadline of early May 2001 has been challenging, yet Symetri spokesperson and Trailblazer Sam Young, emphasized that not only did they meet the deadline, but also "This project has perfectly fit our culture and work environment well. Our team consisted of technical, creative, and service-oriented staff that thrives on the daily interface required when working on such a large Web site." The new site look-and-feel will simplify navigation and target content. Integrated SRC news will highlight new content on the site and will, ultimately, adapt to the identity and interests of each user. The goal of more current, flexible responses to research information needs will be achieved via an onboard database fully synchronized with the SRC corporate database. Opportunities for true collaborative efforts on the SRC Web site will be available in the SRC Forums area.

Mark Shelman, the Semiconductor Research Corporation Web site project manager, relayed the deciding factors for their company in choosing Symetri for such a large scope project, "OnSphere Corporation, the Web site engineering firm we had chosen, highly recommended Symetri as our partner in the proposed project. Previously, OnSphere had used Symetri to help brand the OnSphere business identity and design a Web presence consistent with that branding. Their positive experience weighed heavily in our decision. As we moved forward in working with Symetri we were very pleased with their ability to be flexible and creative, yet promptly meet our deadlines."

Research Corporation is headquartered in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, with additional offices in San Jose, California. The SRC operates globally to provide competitive advantage to its members as the world’s premier university research management consortium delivering relevantly educated technical talent and early research results. SRC members include Eastman Kodak Company, IBM Corporation, Intel Corporation, Lucent Technologies, and Texas Instruments Incorporated. Symetri, based in High Point, N.C., is an e-business design and development company that provides interactive technology solutions for its clients. It is one of a handful of companies nationwide that offers combined expertise in both interactive design and cutting-edge technology.
